Saying Goodbye to EntreCard
For those of you who are regular EntreCard droppers here...Thank You! Due to all the EC changes that are coming I have decided to check out on or before October 5th. As of today, my ads are disabled and I have spread the wealth around (all my banked EC points.)
EC allowed me to keep track of so many great blogs that I enjoyed reading, but it will become more difficult now. I hope many of you will add yourselves to my list of "followers" so I can "find you" again. If you have a "follow" feature, I have added myself or will do so in the coming days. You can also find me at STUMBLE UPON or at BLOG CATALOG.
OR you can post your link in the comment section below so that I have a permanent connection back to you.
Best wishes to all of you and may the Blog Force be with you!!!

Top EC Droppers
Although I have not been blogging for a while, I have tried to keep up with my EC drops.
This summer has proven quite busy for me--I am teaching a few courses, finishing and starting new writing projects and driving my boys all around town to the beach, camp, malls, restaurants, parties and pools--and there is still much more to come.
Everyday is just another day in paradise...no complaints here!

I thank everyone for continuing to visit and drop.
In particular I thank the following 10 EC droppers who have been
consistently loyal.

A Respite
No. I have not abandoned The Fearless Blog. I am on vacation, just a few days off between semesters. Although I am usually not much of a couch potato, this week my body requested a respite and I obliged. My brain also threw in the towel: no reading, no blogging, no deep thinking of any kind permitted. Yes. I am enjoying the "nothingness" that surrounds me....
(By the way, avoid cliches.) I wish I knew where to find the accent mark on the key board. Does anyone know where it is? :>) Really...I don't know.

Paid Ads on EntreCard
For months, I have been a dedicated EC dropper. I have enjoyed the community and the many blogs I have discovered. Had it not been for my participation in EC, I may never have discovered blogs like
Secondary Roads
Natural State Hawg
The Marc Chamot Report
Argo's Journey
Pauls Health Blog
Blackholes and Astrostuff
A Valdese Blog
Did I Miss Something
Natural State Hawg
The Marc Chamot Report
Argo's Journey
Pauls Health Blog

A Valdese Blog
Did I Miss Something
or countless others like them. However, "change" and "new and improved" are not always synonymous for better." Many of my good blogger friends have either disabled their EC adds temporarily or have abandoned EC altogether. I am not one to quit or run under most circumstances, and I find it difficult to throw in the towel even when faced with a seemingly impossible task. However, I am not comfortable with the current "paid ads" situation and so I have decided not to accept paid ads from EC anymore. Those paid ads which I accepted already will be allowed to run their course...there are 46 ads on my list of paid ads. That's a lot of ad time, and I can't begin to imagine how long they will take to expire.
Once the paid ads expire, anyone who purchases an ad on this blog will receive 100% exposure. My hope is that the administrators at EC will find a more acceptable system that provides a win win situation for everyone.
I would love to hear your comments and suggestions....

URGENT: Palm Springs North Residents
The Palm Springs North Civic Association has posted and distributed a very important notice notice that affects the residents of this quiet and peaceful community. Please read the entire notice posted at their official website.
This is just a brief summary. The Florida Department of Transportation will be attending the Community Council 5 meeting on April 16Th at 7:00 pm at Country Club Middle School located at 18305 NW 75Th Place. FDOT, it appears, is considering NW 170 st for the placement of an on/off ramp connecting to I-75.
What does this mean for PSN residents? More traffic, more noise, more problems for our small and peaceful community. Property values will plummet even more than they already have and this would be devastating for our community and by extension every single one of us who lives here.
I hope you will all join me and attend this crucial meeting. (READ ENTIRE LETTER)

The Survivors Club Quiz
I took the Survivor Club Quiz after watching Glen Beck's program last week on Being Prepared for the worst case scenario. The quiz indicates that I am a Thinker and compared me to Steve Jobs, Hillary Clinton and Chesley Sully Sullenberger.
If you watched Beck's program or read his post on his website, I would love to know what you think.

The Fearless Blog Celebrates Its First Anniversary
In March 2008 The Fearless Blog made its debut.
My original objectives: share my stories, photographs and tips with my current and former students at the college.
As months passed and I became more and more comfortable in the "blogging world," I also became a little more adventurous and began to reach out to bloggers everywhere. My audience has obviously expanded and my goals have multiplied.
I discovered an amazing group of people from all over the world!!!
So many of you have enriched my life more than you will ever really know.
The Fearless Blog thanks the
27,000 plus visitors
that made their way this past year through these sometimes yellow, sometimes beige or sometimes green pages.
Best wishes being sent your way...right now...

Painful Realities
Yesterday, my son's friend lost her mother unexpectedly.
Her mom was 41 years old.
My son, now that he is older, rarely kisses me goodnight; however, last night something different occurred.

My son, now that he is older, rarely kisses me goodnight; however, last night something different occurred.
As I stood in his room, he tightly wrapped his arms around me as if afraid to let go, placed several gentle kisses on my cheek and said,
"I love you mom."
Written in honor of the woman my son fondly remembers as the lady who on occasion generously brought pastelitos to his class and participated in most school events.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
This semester is coming to an end and yes I am swamped with final exams, essays to read, grades to submit and last minute problems to solve. I am sending this message out a bit early but if I don't send it out now it may not be sent at all. I am going home in a few days...the mountains are calling me...and I may not be able to get online for awhile.
MESSAGE TO MY STUDENTS:
You were a pleasure to work with this term. What a great group of people!!! We made mistakes and we learned. We shared music, art and stories. We laughed together and sometimes we even cried together. I wish only good things for all of you today and always and if you remember only one thing about my class, please remember this
I often think of you all and my good wishes are "always being sent your way." During this holiday season, may you find great joy and peace surrounded by the people you love most in the world. I pray God's light shines your way and that all your dreams come true. I wish for you and your loved ones a long and healthy life, your first published book, a hit screenplay, the house of your dreams or the job of your dreams and for you a new laptop computer with fast access DSL. ( Ya'll can figure this out...right?)
Carpe Diem my friends...Carpe Diem!!!!
Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

Two roads diverged in the woods and I, I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference... R Frost

Boxing Anyone?
I discovered another interesting blog today called Nothing Clever to Say. And of course, I had to take another one of those quickie tests. I don't know if I would be a very good boxer since my hands are too small and my wrists too thin. One interesting fact though...most boxers get their noses broken and guess what? You've got it! I had my nose broken twice when I was a kid. As to the how...well I will leave that for another post. Enjoy your results.
You Are Boxing |
![]() You are assertive, strong, and downright aggressive. You have the power to demolish your opponent... And you have the endurance to make sure the job is finished. |

I should live in Costa Rica?
On Sunday morning, I stopped by Jen X to discover a post that peaked my interest. Drum roll......please.....and here are my results......
Honestly, I am in no way surprised by the results. In fact, they are quite predictable.
