Featured Writer: Donna Sundblad at Pumping Your Muse Prompts

Donna Sundblad at Pumping Your Muse Prompts and Pumping Your Muse Fantasy Writer has published and released two books, one a non-fiction book for creative writers entitled Pumping Your Muse and the other a fictional novel entitled Windwalker, both available in print and online.

"One of the things that's interesting about Pumping Your Muse for me as an author," she says "is that the exercises gave birth to two novels." She is of course referring to Windwalker and her third book, Beyond the Fifth Gate due to be released in September. In addition, she has published her work in several anthologies and magazines and serves as tour Coordinator for Promo 101 Virtual Blog Tours.

The vivid storytelling in Chapter 1 of Windwalker quickly sparks my interest. The writer introduces a variety of unusual characters and places, along with an underlying sense of mystery. After a few paragraphs, I begin to understand these characters and their roles, but most importantly I begin to ponder their fate. By the end of the first chapter, I am left sitting in the warm Kiva anticipating the next story and much like Awena, my mind is restless and anxious for more.

After reading a little about Donna's background, I am inspired by her many pursuits and accomplishments as well as her dedication to her writing. The ghost of Mark Twain is whispering in my ears once again, "If you love what you do, you will never work another day in your life." I presume that her love for writing offers Donna splendid days and nights in her rural Georgia home living a life she probably always dreamed of living.

BREAKING NEWS... I am proud to announce that the second edition of Pumping Your Muse shall be released at the end of this month with a new mesmerizing cover.

  5. I am a friend of Donna's also. Only through our writing and online connection but she is truly an inspiration to me and my writing.

If every writer took a page out of her book and emulated the beauty that she has within, this world would be a much better place.

A great piece of work on a wonderful lady!

  8. What a fantastic review of what sounds like a fantastic book. :) I am going to read this book...simply because of the way you describe it here. This is a wonderful idea...a teacher of writing...writing reviews. You seem to have a natural knack for this type of thing....laying out the key points and why the book is good...AND doing it in a very short space. Excellent. I appreciate your passing this on...I need a good read! This looks like a GREAT read. Love and hugs to you Mar, Robin
