May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Remember to cherish every moment with the people in your life who mean so much to you. The time you spend laughing and talking or just holding their hand may be more precious than any expensive gift you can buy, wrap and place under the tree. As the New Year rings in at midnight on the thirty first rejoice and give thanks that you stand under the night sky once again to welcome a new year, and in the morning as you see the sun rise remember your life too is a gift more valuable than anything else.

ReplyDeleteHi Ms.Cueto I really like this poem and it has so much impact when you read between the lines. Once I read the poem I had to sit down and go over what I just read in my mind and the poem is very true that you can’t buy a precious gift. Because the perverse Christmas my oldest sister didn’t give me anything, and to my surprise I was really appalled. My sister came up to me and gave me the biggest hug she ever given me before; then, she told me she love me and that’s something that you can’t buy in any store and place under a tree that’s something I will always cherish for the rest of my life like I said at the beginning I really like this poem thank you for opening up my eyes.

ReplyDeletethat was a really nice piece of art. I never knew you was from a decent cuban family but now i know and we could relate to each other because my parents lived right around the corner from Cuba which is Haiti and they had a similar life story compare to yours.
