This video is dedicated to all the incredible people that I have met through this blog. You know exactly who you are, yet you cannot fathom what your constant encouragement, feedback and moral support has truly meant to me. Although we may never meet or see each other, you have enriched my life beyond my wildest expectations. I am a better person because of you. Yes you!
Wonder
Natalie Merchant
Album: Tigerlily
Doctors have come from distants cities, just to see me
Stand over my bed, disbelieving what they're seeing
1-They say I must be one of the wonders
Of God's own creation
And as far as they see, they can offer
No explanation
Newspapers ask intimate questions, want confessions
They reach into my head to steal, the glory of my story
(repeat 1)
Ooo, I believe, fate, fate smiled
And destiny laughed as she came to my cradle
Know this child will be able
Laughed as my body she lifted
Know this child will be gifted
With love, with patience, and with faith
She'll make her way, she'll make her way
People see me I'm a challenge to your balance
I'm over your heads how I confound you
And astound you
To know I must be one of the wonders
(rpt...1)
Ooo, I believe, fate, fate smiled
And destiny laughed as she came to my cradle
Know this child will be able
Laughed as she came to my mother
Know this child will not suffer
Laughed as my body she lifted
Know this child will be gifted
With love, with patience and with faith
She'll make her way, she'll make her way

Your words and this music moved me to tears. I felt so much love for you and what you give us all...and the number of times you have helped me feel grounded in this cyber world...you just can't even imagine how often it has been. I just realized that when I come here I find a reflection of myself...and I feel grounded and reminded of what is real. I go away feeling like I can breathe again. Like my world has been made right. You've no idea what you've given me. Although I may never meet you I am glad you are here. I am glad. It would not be the same without you. Not even close.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute!! I haven't heard the name Natalie Merchant in a long time! I always loved her voice.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Even though it is almost impossible to watch a video on this slow dial-up, I understand what is on it through your words.
ReplyDeleteI know you have touched some many people also.
The main thing is...It sure is fun!!!
Thank-you for being a friend.
